Racing in the Caterham 310R Championship
Day keeps getting better the race calendar for next year has been confirmed.
Sat 22nd April – Aintree
Sat 20th May – Curborough Sprint
Sun 4th June – Brands Hatch
Sat/Sun 8/9th July – Donington (Caterham Festival)
Sat 12th Aug – Snetterton 300
Sat/Sun 16/17th Sep – Rockingham
Sat/Sun 14/15th Oct – Silverstone
First ever circuit race for a grid of amateurs and the first corner is Brands Hatch paddock hill bend, should be exciting!
Also get to do Silverstone and Donington!
Got an IVA date of 3rd Jan.. Going to be a long wait till I see the car again. In the meantime the car did pretty well at the Caterham post build check. Most builds need 10hrs or more work to get them up to scratch apparently. Mine only needs just over 5 of which 3hrs is really minor stuff.
Could fix it myself but by the time I pay for a trailer to bring the car back and my time it’s cheaper to leave it with Caterham to fix.
Drove the car for the first time. Only from garage to van but still awesome to have built a car. Garage is feeling very empty right now. Fingers crossed for the Caterham post build check.
I’ve built a car that actually starts! Doesn’t idle right but that’s a minor detail compared to the actual building of the car.
Tomorrow Caterham are collecting it for the post build check then it’s a waiting game for the IVA and registration. Next stop motor racing!
Found the cause of my car not starting.
Caterham forgot to put a relay in. Guess that got missed off the ‘shortages list’ when they sent the kit out!
