As a child before I learnt the realities of life I had two dream jobs when I grew up. Being a fighter pilot or a racing driver. The former I’ll blame on Top Gun and was always a bit unrealistic.
The latter came more than likely from many enjoyable Sunday afternoons watching the F1 on tv with my dad. With the occasional visit to Brands Hatch to watch all sorts of racing. By the time I actually had to get a career neither were likely to happen so I ended up going into software development. The closest I thought I would ever get to racing would be an evening on the xbox.
Last year I was fortunate enough to live a childhood dream and take part in the 2017 Caterham Academy Championship. Where I did reasonably well and ended up 5 out of the 27 novice drivers. This year I’ll be upgrading to the Caterham Roadsport Championship where I hope to do better.
